Pita Bread Pizza
4 whole wheat pitas
Sliced vegetables, such as: red or green peppers, onions, mushroom, tomato, black olive, artichokes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly oil two cookie sheets and lay 2 whole grain pitas on each sheet. Add pizza sauce and Italian seasoning.
Top with sliced vegetables and sprinkle with cheese. Or, to boost nutrition and lower fat, substitute with crushed nuts like pistachios, cashews, almonds.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, until edges start to brown.
