Whole Grain Pizza Dough
2 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 packet dry yeast
¾ tsp salt
1 cup hot water
1 T olive oil
Pizza sauce and toppings of your choice
Mix flour and yeast together then add 1 cup warm water and 1 tsp oil and 1 tsp salt. Mix with your hands then cover bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise (20-30 minutes).
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spray a pizza pan with oil.
Punch down the dough, then spread it across the pizza pan. Lightly brush the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle with pizza seasoning (or Italian seasoning). Bake 10 min on 400 degrees.
Add pizza sauce and toppings (like peppers, mushrooms, olives, spinach, tomato) and bake for another 10 minutes or until lightly browned at the edges.
Note: for a cheese substitute, crush about 1/2 cup of almonds, pistachios or cashews and sprinkle on top.
